Dove. It does a body good.

Remember those ads for Dove that used real, live, non-model persons to sell beauty products? You might well not; despite the politically correct press the ads weren't a raging success. But if we could just buy a vowel, I think this photo might've saved the campaign:

Samantha Stosur and her amazing arm won their match over Jamie Hampton at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston today. Other Tuesday winners whose names end with the letter "a" were: Anastasia (Pavlyuchenkova), Vera, Serena, Anastasia (Rodionova), Varvara, Nadia, Yanina, Marina, Anna, and Yaroslava. Also, Jill Craybas beat A. Amanmuradova.

Had I seen any of it, I would offer you more than vowels. But in my search for the real-persons ads, I did see this: Dove (a soap company) now has a Social Mission and a Self-Esteem Ambassador. As part of their up-with-feminism agenda, they will give you a free self-esteem "kit" for the girls in your life. Is it just me, or does this remind you all too much of the episode of Mad Men where they name the lipstick?  Thank goodness for the Sams, and the Serenas, and the Veras, and the Anastasias...
